Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Grant Expenditure

Pupil Premium funding is money given to schools from the Government to support the progress of pupils vulnerable to under-achievement as identified by the Government, such as :
  • Children entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) including children who have been eligible within the last 6 years .
  • Looked after children (LAC) including those who have Special Guardianship Orders (SGO)
  • Those who have been adopted
  • Children of Armed Services Personnel
Nationally, these children have sometimes been subject to underachievement and the government wants schools to focus on ensuring the gap is firstly 'narrowed' then eventually 'closed ' between progress and attainment of these children compared to their peers. Therefore, the money is allocated to initiatives to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
